Text of sermon given by Rev. John O'Connor, O.P. to the staff of THE MARYFAITHFUL and published in the September-October 1995 issue of that magazine. It deals with the apparitions of the Blessed Mother in Akita, Japan in the early 70s, which mention that a Great Chastisement will soon befall mankind unless people repent. It also mentions (near the end) a prophecy of St. Don Bosco that there will be a great world-wide calamity in March of 1996 (which evidently failed to happen). Nevertheless, all are urged to take care to stay in the state of grace.
